I grew up in a city where rail transit doesn’t exist. So please do excuse my ignorance!

On my previous posts, I’ve pointed out my stay inManila. And my purpose of staying there necessitates me to ride LRT often. I must say, it is a definite convenience particularly in terms of traffic. Since I am not well acquainted withManila, I think it’s kind of a nice approach too on orientation besides the four-wheeled transportations as it is much easier for me. And also, as long as LRT is just around, I will never get lost. Hehe.

But there were those few times when you get to comfort yourself throughout the travel and those frequent times you’d feel the exact opposite. Honestly, I don’t really mind standing. It’s just that when people are stacking up, expect to get touched or be in contact with passengers’ body parts. Rightly so, it’s kind of unhygienic and unhealthy at times when LRT is chock-full and someone’s sweaty skin touches yours or you’ve unwantedly smelled someone’s offensive breath or someone you’d beg to use some deodorants. Geez! What’s worse is the air-borne or droplet transmission of communicable diseases. Now that’s scary!

Anyhow, I’ll be back in Manila by Friday and I’m looking forward to more comfortable plus healthy LRT rides.

Passing the Nurse’s Licensure Exam is easier said than done. But once it becomes a reality, you’ll certainly get to savor the taste of sweet success!!

The above photo is my Professional Identification Card—the fruit of all the labor that seemed to take a lifetime to painstakingly put together. And at long last, I get to take considerable delight as I lay it on my hands for the first time at PRC-Cebu. Sweeter success!!

Wait, did I mention that claiming my Professional ID is the reason for my comeback? Oh yes! It could’ve been nicer though to extend my stay but nevertheless, it’s nice catching up on things from family and friends even for a short period of time. It surely is an icing on the cake! And truth be told, home by itself is for me, the sweetest success!!

tumblr oh tumblr, I missed you so much!! There had been no single day since I set foot in Manila that I desire spending hours with you like how I used to in Cebu up until today. So I take great delight with this opportunity for you to eat up my time since I’ve got nothing else to do today but to impatiently wait for tomorrow. Why? Because…I AM GOING BACK TO THE QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH, CEBU!!!!!!! So without question, you’ll see traces of excess excitement on my face for sure. But I’ll keep this face to myself for now coz I can’t get over it looking ghastly at 22 years old! lol. Home sweet home!! Oh yeah!! :)

On the blah side, I’ll be staying in Cebu for less than a week only. I have to be back in Manila for some scheduled assessment on something. Bummer!! But trying to be an optimist, I clearly shouldn’t count every hour in the day but make every hour of the day count. Alright, me being optimistic—FAIL!! I still want longer time in Cebu. :(

*sigh

I’m currently in Manila living a life far from what I’m used to two weeks ago.

I have various trainings to attend to which will last ‘til the 8th of March 2012. One out of the seven trainings has been successfully completed. And I don’t think it’ll cause me headaches. So yes, I can’t wait to bring to certification these trainings.

After the training though, I’m lost!! I mean, I don’t know where I will be or what I’ll be doing. But one thing’s for sure, Imma ‘go with the flow’ as to what needs to be done to move forward and reach greater heights. So, am I really lost? :)

Alright whatever, this is it for now…HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, y’all!!!!

Mom flew to CDO to visit our relatives who were awfully struck more than a month ago by Typhoon Sendong. Three were peacefully laid to rest and seven others are still missing. I almost got teary-eyed when mom recounts our relatives’ struggle and survival the night Typhoon Sendong drowned & swept through parts of Mindanao.

Anyway, here are photos from where our relatives’ house formerly stood:

Disheartening, I must say!!

Last week, I was away from home and had to stay at one of the 2 dormitories of the University of Cebu-Maritime Education & Training Center [UC-METC] for the 7-day Basic Safety Training [BST]. BST is a course to meet the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping [STCW] for all seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship to respond appropriately when the situation calls for it

So, in a nutshell, here’s how it went…

After spending grueling hours at the National Bureau of Investigation [NBI] Regional Office in Cebu, my request for a record clearance has been finally released. Thankfully, the result is “NO RECORD ON FILE”. If it were otherwise, my request will be released 3 weeks after. I don’t know how’s it like in other regional offices, but I must say, getting your NBI clearance here in Cebu really requires patience.

Okay so, a friend and I first went there to be scheduled and they appointed us to be back about a week after. So there goes the first patience!

Now, a week passed by, and I’m back at the Regional Office. There were like 5 steps before your clearance will be released. So, step 1 is the filling up of application forms with an assigned numbers on the upper right side, which is more like a priority number. Written on mine was 607 and they were still entertaining those with the 400s. I almost lost my willingness to endure coz this is where one’s great amount of patience [which I lack] is highly needed!

Step 2 was, I think, the checking of the data. No worries here, everything was fast and easy. Step 3 was the payment, prices differ depending on your purpose of getting a record clearance. Then I got really excited inching my way towards step 4 coz I’m near the end. lol. It was the encoding and I was assigned to a hearing-impaired OJT. She was trying to communicate with me about something NBI-unrelated, so it kinda caught my attention. Onto step 5, the picture taking and fingerprinting. The guy in-charge was again, trying to talk to me. No, he wasn’t hearing impaired but seemed surprised with my purpose of getting a clearance so he was asking questions and even wished me luck!!

And then finally… after more than 5 hours, my legs are officially tortured!!!! haha.. I now have my NBI record clearance!! Yey me!!

P.S.:

EFF YOU, FIXERS!!!

Surprisingly, after an immediate change of plans, I’ll be welcoming 2012 with my family here in Cebu! No, the picture above isn’t a view of the Queen City of the South but a panoramic photo from the view deck of Burgundy Transpacific Place in Taft Avenue, Metro Manila [just across De La Salle University] where I spent my Christmas Eve with my mom, my sis, and some of my maternal relatives. I apologize for being so amateur at photography, I didn’t even use a DSLR camera for this shot. But photography aside, I still took pleasure of the city lights gleaming in the twilight’s luminosity.

I wonder how it feels like to be here when fireworks are ubiquitous to welcome 2012!?!

Went to SM Mall of Asia yesterday and tried their gigantic Ferris wheel or the SM MOA EYE. It is said to be 160 feet tall, which makes it the biggest in the Philippines. The 10-minute ride costs 150PhP per person with a maximum of 6 persons per air-conditioned gondola.
